The app

Twoly puts the people who actually matter to you on your home screen.

Not a feed. Not followers. No likes, no comments, no algorithm deciding who you see today. You pick one person — or two, or three — and from then on you can see what they're up to without having to ask, and they can see you. A widget on your lock screen or home screen, a mascot with a face, a line of text, and a number counting the days you've been together.

It's built for the gap that phones never quite closed: you text someone all day and still have no idea how their day is going. Twoly's answer is small and constant instead of large and occasional. You set your status once; they see it every time they unlock their phone.

Twoly is made for two markets on purpose — India and the United States — with different words, different prices, and different defaults in each, because a couples app that says "grabbing brunch" to someone in Guwahati has already told them it wasn't built for them.

The company

Twoly is built and operated by Xspark LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India under the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008.

Xspark LLP is a small, independent team. We are not venture-funded, we do not sell advertising, and we do not sell data. Twoly is paid for by the people who use it — a subscription, priced for the country you're in — and that is deliberate. An app whose business model is attention has to keep you scrolling. Ours only has to be worth keeping on your home screen.

How we think about your data

The whole product is a short version of this: we want to know as little as possible about you while still being useful.

Some concrete consequences of that, all of which you can verify in the app:

• No advertising, ever. No ad SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking.
• No feed and no recommendations, which means no behavioural profile to build.
• Location is off unless you turn it on, and even then your coordinates are rounded before they leave your phone so that all anyone — including us — can compute is a rough distance like "6 km away". We never hold a location history and we never show a place.
• Your friend code is never readable by anyone else, not even through our own API. It is looked up once, by exact match, when someone redeems it.
• Your vow can't be quietly edited. That's a promise about the product, not a limitation — and deleting your account still deletes it.
