Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your Twoly account and everything in it. There's no form to beg through, no retention offer, and no "are you sure you want to lose your streak?" — one path, and it works.

Note for Google Play: this page is the publicly accessible account-deletion URL required for apps that support account creation. Publish it at https://trytwoly.com/delete and enter that URL in Play Console → App content → Data safety.

Option 1 — in the app (fastest)

Settings → Delete my account → confirm.

It happens immediately. You'll be signed out, and the people you were connected to will simply stop seeing you.

Option 2 — from the web, without the app

If you've uninstalled the app or lost access to your phone, email xsparkllp@gmail.com from any address with:

The subject line "Delete my account"
The phone number on the account

We'll verify it's your number — usually with a one-time code — and then delete it. We verify because otherwise anyone who knew your number could delete your account.

Acknowledged within	24 hours
Deleted within	7 days of verification, usually the same day

What gets deleted

Everything you made:

Your name, mascot, phone number and friend code
Your status, mood, note, and your whole status history
Your vow, including your handwritten signature strokes — vows are otherwise permanent by design, and deleting your account is how you remove one
Your partner sketch — the name, look and anniversary you entered for your person
Your connections, so nobody sees you any more
Your settings, sleep times and preferences
Your push notification tokens
Emoji you sent and received

Timing: removed from live systems within 30 days (usually immediately), and purged from encrypted backups within 90 days.

What we have to keep, and why

We can't delete the first one on request. Everything else, we can.

What we can't reach

What another person already saw. If your partner read your note, deleting your account doesn't unsee it — the same way deleting a message doesn't remove it from someone's memory.
Your subscription. Deleting your Twoly account does not cancel an active Apple or Google subscription, because we don't control it. Cancel it in the store first, or it keeps charging you:
iPhone/iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Twoly → Cancel
Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Twoly → Cancel

See the Refund Policy. Please cancel before deleting — it's the one order-of-operations mistake that costs money.

Don't want to delete everything?

Some smaller options, in case one of these is what you actually wanted:

You want to…	Do this instead
Stop sharing distance or battery	Settings → turn the switch off. Immediate.
Stay present but hide what you're doing	Turn on "only my mood". Your activity and note stop being sent at all.
Remove one person	Settings → that person → remove. They aren't told.
Take a break	Turn off notifications and set your status once. Nothing expires.
Get a copy of your data first	Email xsparkllp@gmail.com and ask — we'll send it within 30 days, free.

Your rights

Deletion is your right under the DPDP Act, 2023, and we treat it as one. We will never charge for it, delay it as leverage, or make the app worse because you asked.

If a deletion request isn't handled properly, escalate to our Grievance Officer, and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
